Speechless

You told me once I talked too much
I told you that I knew

You told me that I think too much
I told you that it’s true

You told me that I fear too much
I told you I agreed

You told me that I push too much
When asking what I need

You told me I’m not healthy
I told you there’s no doubt

You told me grace was running thin
No more to talk about

I told you:

“Fine, I wish you well, can’t be all cream and peaches”

Your fragile skin, with thorny scales
Now rendering me speechless
